Modern Body Festival is proud to present the Dutch premiere of Meinhardt-Krauss-Feigl with their performance Die Zweite Realität (The Second Reality). Die Zweite Realität is an augmented reality dance performance on the increasing datafication and virtualization of everyday life, and the effect this change has on the human body and psyche. This truly cross-disciplinary performance combines dance with a sophisticated infrared tracking system, sensors, projection mapping and live electronic sound to turn performing bodies into cyber-marionettes – hybrid bodies in a hybrid space, fusing the real with the virtual. Constructed around texts by experimental Danish poet Inger Christensen, the performance creates new realities that will challenge your perspective and perception, opening questions on the nature of material experience.

BIO
MEINHARDT KRAUSS FEIGL (DE) are puppeteer and dancer Iris Meinhardt, director and video artist Michael Krauss, video artist Oliver Feigl, and composer Thorsten Meinhardt. The performances of the Stuttgart-based company live from the vivid exchange between visual theatre, dance, film, new media and contemporary music. They merge high-tech and poetry, virtuality and human bodies, to a unique theatrical language, that invites the audience with a vital sense for surealism to take something non-real for true. The productions of the ensemble have been invited to manyimportant national and international theatre festivals in more than fifteen countries. Their work has been awarded many prizes, such as Grünschnabel, Switzerland and the nomination for the George Tabori prize, 2017 flausen+ residence for young artists. MEINHARDT KRAUSS FEIGL also give national and international workshops in the fields of dance and puppetry, video and new media and they are guest lecturers at the University Stuttgart, Folkwang University of Arts,Essen, HfMDK Frankfurt.
