‘The Four Riders’ is a study of the horse’s anatomy in movement. Inspired by Albrecht Dürer’s ‘Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse’ (1498), the four-channel-installation stages the wild and restrained next to the elegant and grotesque.

BIO
Chaja Hertog (Amsterdam 1978) & Nir Nadler (Haifa 1977) are an Amsterdam based artist duo, operating across disciplines of visual arts, performance and film. Their work explores relations between the natural and the artificial, between politics and poetics; often combined with physicality, humor and the passage of time.
After graduating from the Rietveld Academie, Hertog received her MA from the Royal Academy of Arts (The Hague) and Nadler received his MA from DasArts (Amsterdam). Hertog Nadler have been widely exhibited in institutes such as Kassel Kunstverein, Kunsthall Stavanger, MoCA Taipei, CSW Toruń, Eyebeam NY, Godsbanen Aarhus, Janco Dada Museum, NY Live Arts, Moscow Museum and the Thessaloniki Biennale.
