Modern Body Festival proudly presents a pre-release of Moritz Simon Geist’s debut album, ‘Robotic Electronic Music’
NOV 2 | PERFORMANCE EVENT | DE NIEUWE REGENTES
Bass, Techno, and Robots! Moritz Simon Geist – media artist, engineer and robotic musician – presents the pre-premiere of his debut solo album, Robotic Electronic Music, at Modern Body Festival 2018. Small motors beat on metal, 3D-printed robo-kalimbas vibrate with deep bass sounds, salvaged parts from old hard drives click and cut – each sound in his thumping performances is played by Geist’s own DIY self made robots. Exploring the sound of mechanics that continually describe our world, Geist creates a smashing soundtrack for both the precise automation and physical fragility that shapes today‘s society.
Moritz teamed up with IDM legends Mouse on Mars to produce the world’s first techno record played entirely by self-made futuristic robots. It will be released on Geists’s label Sonic Robots Records via techno big-hitters Kompakt.
